Jammu and Kashmir police on Thursday arrested a drug peddler with contraband of cannabis in mountainous Ramban district of the J&K UT state.
Police here said that one infamous drug peddler identified as Zareena Begum,50, was arrested by the police when she was selling it at Gandha Nallah under the new bridge Kowbagh.
Acting swiftly police party headed by SHO Ramban inspector Pardeep Sharma swung into the action and caught the lady near Shan Palace on the national highway.
On search by the lady police, 465 grams of charas was recovered from her possession.
It is pertinent to mention here that the accused lady is a habitual drug peddler and has been active in the areas for a significant time period, they said adding that a case was registered and investigation started.
